Flames erupt from a booth at the Bryant Park holiday market in Manhattan.

 

BRYANT PARK, Manhattan (WABC) – A fire broke out Friday morning at the Bryant Park holiday market, engulfing at least one booth in flames and sending smoke billowing into the sky.

The fire erupted around 9:20 a.m. near the park’s iconic carousel, with flames visibly shooting from the tent.

According to the FDNY, the blaze was brought under control by 10 a.m., and no injuries were reported.

The fire marshal is currently investigating the cause of the incident.

Slight damage was reported to a neighboring kiosk, and there was some heat impact on the roof of the ice-skating rink located behind the affected booth.

The holiday market, which runs until January 5, was not yet open to the public at the time of the fire, as its daily opening time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
