It’s not a bird or a plane—it’s Krypto the Superdog! The loyal canine companion of the Man of Steel makes a dramatic entrance in the teaser trailer for the upcoming Superman movie, released on Thursday.
The trailer marks the first full look at David Corenswet as Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. This James Gunn-led reboot ushers in a new chapter for the DC superhero universe, and fans are buzzing with excitement.
The teaser begins with Superman at his lowest, stranded in a frozen wasteland after a violent crash landing. Bloodied and battered, he calls for help with a whistle—and Krypto appears in a storm of snow.
“Take me home,” Superman says later, as Krypto grabs the hero’s iconic red cape and pulls him through the icy landscape.
The dialogue in the trailer is minimal, with only one other line: a young boy softly whispering Superman’s name while holding a homemade flag bearing the hero’s emblem.
Set to a stirring rendition of John Williams’ classic Superman theme, the trailer leans into themes of hope and nostalgia.
Fans also got glimpses of other iconic characters, including Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific.
But it’s Krypto who’s stealing the spotlight online. Social media is abuzz with excitement for the Superdog’s big-screen debut.
“I’m dead serious—Krypto the Dog is the only reason I’m watching the #Superman movie,” one fan posted on X.
Another joked on BlueSky, “I’m sorry, but I’m pivoting to Krypto. NFTs now stand for ‘Nice Fluffy Terriers.’”
Krypto may just be the breakout star of this superhero epic!
